I love to travel !!! Maybe because I'm from an island paradise (in my opinion at lease). I live in the US but when I travel I rather go overseas. I've been fortunate enough to visit Germany, Rome, Venice, Barcelona, Madrid and Paris.
My all time favorite place to visit thus far (since I don't consider going to my home country visiting) would be VENICE. Oh my goodness what a beautiful city !!! It definitely was not what I expected and it exceeded my expectations. Italy has the BEST wines in my opinion. Their cappuccino was AMAZING - Starbucks has NOTHING on Italian cappuccino. I loved walking in the streets and crossing the bridges and not see a car in sight. It was weird but really great at the same time. The glass blown factory was breathtaking...I came home with very expensive but beautiful souvenirs...money well spend for a lifetime memory. Some alley ways were so small I could stretch out my hands and touch each building and for a "not so tall person" with short arms that's was really funny ;D
Rome was an experience I will never forget. Seeing the Coliseum in person and knowing I was standing where gladiators found was unreal. It made me happy to be living in this century and not back then I tell you. Vatican City was beautiful but I don't think it had the impact on me as it did Catholics. Driving around the city and seeing the ruins and the beautiful architecture of such an old city made me do cartwheels in my head experiencing it. ;D
It was great going to the Louvre in Paris with my daughter although she didn't appreciate it as much as I did since she was only 13. It's a good thing I didn't have to pay for her ticket. You're free until you're 18...HOW GREAT IS THAT...and I wonder if natives take advantage of that. Seeing the Eiffel Tower wasn't as awesome as I expected it to be but going on the Seine River tour definitely made up for the lackluster of the tower. Crepes OF COURSE was OMGGGGGGGGG DELICIOUSSSSSSSSSSS!!! (my mouth is watering from just the memory)
I didn't like Barcelona but that was on my daughter's wish list. It might have been the 4 hour siesta that could have made my experience not so pleasant. Don't get me wrong I LOVEEEEEE to sleep and relax but when there is noooooo where b/w 12-4 that you can find a place to eat, that's where I have issues and PROBLEMS. Not a place I see myself visiting again anytime soon.
Madrid was nicer than Barcelona even though they also had 4 hour siesta's and the best McDonald's I've ever been to (yes i went to McDonald's in Madrid Spain LOL). The furnishing was better than most people's houses...I was impressed!!!
I loved Germany!!! The architecture as well was very impressive. The details and the age of the buildings were magnificent!!! Talk about castles by gooooooodness!!! And OMG the shoessssss...I'm a girl who loves her shoes and the selection was FIERCEEEEEEE!!!
My future travel plans I intend to visit Amsterdam, Greece, and Scotland for now. I would love to visit all the countries in Europe and all the Caribbean islands.
