That Smile

That style

That elegant yet versatile

Body of yours that makes words come to life

Girl I just wanna put you in my pipe

And inhale your whole being

And keep you as mine

The inhalation would drive me nuts

The hallucinations would be kind

Your soul is so divine

You know I can't keep you off my mind

You're the hands on my clock of time

And should I say it

You're so door fine

The light you create leaves weak men blind


But that being said...


You plague me on the inside

I can't keep you out of my thoughts

I don't even know what you want

You're a riddle written in chalk

The problem is it's written on water

And the rain is to come soon

I can't figure you out, or find you all

I'm left on an island, marooned

Trapped by my thoughts

Trapped by my Life

I'm lost at sea girl

And fall in my strife

It's not always a thrill, you see

I feel like you don't even care

I feel like we're not on the same wave lengths

Like neither of us are just there

So I just pop another pill

And begin to fly and become caught

This one for the depression

This one for the Thoughts

This one for the trust

This one for the Sleep

This one for the cuts

This one for the heat

And then, it doesn't feel so bad

Then you're back in my head

We're smiling and running through town

The sky is high, the clouds are clear

And I don't even wanna come down

You're my high girl

And I'm the addictive user

I'd say something like "I love you"

But you'd think I was a looser

And I don't mind being a drug abuser

As long as your supply is never ending

You make my heart whole

I don't want to loose this mending

But this high is coming to an ending

And the thoughts begin to swell

I lose my paradise of you

And find the you in my hell


And does the heat come full force...


Watch me burn now

I'm dieing in the heat

The chains are tight girl

And my legs are getting weak

I can't carry this much longer

The burden is too much to bare

I'm going to break free soon

And I'll give you such a scare

I don't want you to see this beast

It's a man you'll never forget

He'll tear your world apart

And bury you in a ditch

He'll dig it with your love

And burn you with your dreams

He'll smile at your despair

And Laugh at your screams

I want you to stay away

I don't want another to be crushed

These feelings were unexpected

This love was rushed

Or maybe Hes a liar

And these feelings are real

I won't let him take you away

I won't let another be killed

I'll take you away from this place

To that village across the lake

But here, take my heart girl

Don't make any mistakes...


And the ride was long, but worth...



Open your eyes girl

And see

This river was made by man

This river was made by me

It's filled with my love

The fish are my passion

The current is my strength

It's an orderly fashion

This boat is my trust

And we're floating in my love

The thought of you here

Makes me want to give you a shove

A push overboard

In to a sea made of me

Breathe me in now

And surely you'll see

Whoa... is this talent I'm smelling? I literally felt the changing rhythm in this poem. There was an 'intelligent swagger' loosely hidden in the drama of the words. I noticed this feel and technique in a few of Jollyomelancholy's write-ups.

He writes as if his style is the missing link between poetry and song.
