What Does Your Mind Do

I was wondering... if anyone else's mind, kinda like mine?

As you lay your head down to sleep... as you relax your mind ... do you see little bits of color swirling and swirling? Purple, blue, orange, green, teal, yellow? I do.

The colors I see are at first little specks, then they mix together to make bigger specks. They turn into huge balls of color, more than one, spinning like a little planet in my mind. Sometimes, only when I'm lucky, they turn into someone I know from my past! I've seen images of all the loved ones I loved who have passed, in this way before I sleep. The swirlling planets of color break off and form them, just a little to the left. When this happens, it starts with the crease of their eye, their left eye. Then both eyes, eyebrows, their nose and then their smile. Their hair falls on their face, just the way I remember them. They smile, wink and wave at me... their image is always in the orange family. From the darkest hue of orange to the copper tones of a shinny new penny. It is one of the coolest things I have seen my mind do..!

Sometimes... when it is dead silent... I can hear my brain! I know, right - strange thing to say, but I do. It almost sounds as if I can hear the blood moving around my brain, a constant low hum, it is the coolest sound. It is loudest when I'm with fever, and I hate how I can hear it then, it is so loud!

I love when I can remember my dreams, I usually do. I hate it when I can't. How do you dream?

I dream in different viewing modes, as if I'm
- a video game character (007)
- in a movie watching myself
- someone else
(in that order) Mostly dream in character... what does that mean?

I've woken up
- laughing
- crying
- falling
- screaming
- gasping for air

In my dreams I can feel the air, if it is raining, windy, hot or cold. I can feel and smell everything in my dreams. I see my dreams in color.

What does your mind do when it is at rest just before you sleep?

Very often mine is racing....events of the day, thoughts of family and friends, loved ones and my concerns for whatever it is they may be experiencing in their lives right now. I love to try to just picture someloace I have been. I will visualize the place, then I will add the sounds, then the feels (like breezes), then the smells (there are ALWAYS smells.)

I will usually just drift away then.
On occasion I will fall exhausted into the bed and DIE. No dreaming, no nothing until morning.
Those would be the days you wake up with sheet wrinkles imbedded in your face .

I dream in different modes as well. Some are more realistic than others. I have had some so realistic that I woke up nauseous with guilt over something my dreamself had done! I dream in color as well and I remember feeling, seeing and tasting in my dreams as well.

I've woken up with my feelings from my dreams. So powerful they can be (Yoda voice - in honor of Star Wars Day )

I love to talk about my dreams when I wake up, I had to 'condition' my husband to let me tell my dreams as soon as I wake up. Now he automattically asks, 'Did you have good dreams?' from when my eyes open from when I fist wake.

I have had pretty intense ones...in a bad way. I remember a dream I had where I betrayed the Lord and Master.

I was comforting an old friend who had lost someone...I do not know if it was in death or divorce, but we ended up commiting the ultimate betrayal.

It was SO realistic that I woke up nauseous with guilt. I told the Lord and Master about the dream because was so upsetting. I even broke down in tears.

I have never been the betraying type. I swore as a child I never would because I watched the destruction of my family due to a betrayal of my father by my mother.

But thanks to that dream I know PRECISELY how agonizing destroying your life and family by your own choices can be. I will never forget it. I will never forget the look in the dream of the Lord and Masters face as he pushed me away, denied my attempts at apology and threw me from his life.

It was THAT bad.

I have woken up so sad - I ran over my dog THREE times. If anyone knows me.. I love my dog, Charlie. He is a 150 pound, Big Barreled Chested Love Dog!

I ran over him 3x's in a VaN - like the ones from the 80's ?? What I find to be the crazy part, in REAL LIFE Charlie had to goooo - BAD and he barked 3x's to wake us up so he could go outside. I actually thought I ran him over when I woke up, I cried for about 5 minutes. When I actually saw Charlie with my own eyes, I hugged and snuggled with him for the longest time. My husband (aka Puppy) asked me, "Didn't you hear Charlie barking last night? He barked 3x's to go out side" when I told him of my dream crying and sobbing.

I've had one dream where I cheated on my husband. You're right, Muse, it is the worst feeling in the world. I couldn't even imagine it in real life! I cried and hugged Puppy and cried into his chest. I told him all about it, all he could say was... 'Buggie Bear, it is only a dream' as he held me closer.

I had a dream I was going to be rapped, in a back area of a loading dock in some industrial building, up state NY area, like in Albany. There were weeds growing chest high, not a car in sight. Three guys of Spanish decent, in blue knitted winter caps, and matching plaid flannels. They threw me on the ground from the loading dock into splintering pallets stacked up along a chain link fence. The loose stones from the old asphalt drive dug into my legs, knees, hands and face as I was skidding across the loading area. As I was landing into the pallets, I dug into my purse and shot them through my purse with my Beretta Storm - right in the chest, all three of them! I woke up feeling triumphant with that one. I was feeling like 007!

The next few nights, dreamed again I was being rapped, I was on the floor in an abandoned condo / apartment or something no gun in my dream that time. The perp had my arms pined down with one of his ugly massive hands, I couldn't get my arms free no matter how hard I tried. I was screaming and kicking. I woke up before he assaulted me, but I woke up whimpering, crying, kicking and I couldn't move my arms, even after I woke because my arms 'fell asleep'. I feel asleep on the *living room floor with my arms over my head, which was resting on two pillows. I woke up angry, scared, crying, and looking for the grubby guy. It was so real the feelings I had when I woke up that now I keep my Baretta Storm with a loaded clip - right next to it - in my living room... just in case dreams do come true.

*I like to lounge with Charlie on the floor watching movies, it's almost like camping, blankets and AC set at 64. I usually fall asleep holding Charlie's paw with the TV on.
