Two of the things that many people find very difficult to talk to another person about are religion and politics. It’s almost crazy when you think about the fact that people can worship the same God. Yet, call him a different name and a few mixed up cultural belief and they will go to war. Same goes for politics, you might like a person who promises you one thing over the person that can’t and you’ll end up disliking a whole class and sometimes race of people for that.
Silly really, because not once will those politicians that promise you what you want to hear, come to your doorstep to make sure that their promises were kept. After they get your vote, so long sucker. I hear people talking about President Obama this, President Obama that. I’ve never met President Obama, (although I’ve seen his campaign bus drive by me on I-95) but I had enough common sense to know that it will be impossible for any man or woman to clean up the mess left by the last President. It’s as if no one remembers high school class elections. When the class president promised to do ALL those things . . . did you really think that in that one school year it would be done? Did you really think the principal was going to allow “No Essays On Test” or “Open Book Test”?
Really???
As I watched TV and listened to people criticize the man who decided to step up and take on this tasks of being President, I realized he was only going to be limited to what he really wanted to say, especially to all the naysayers. He said he will be our President and he will commit to that job and he has. That is all anyone can really expect. Think about the government like a company….really think about it…all the republican would be fired by now. They are basically committing treason, plain and simple.
When it comes to religion: Why is it that when someone who is not religious visits the house of someone who is, the person who is not is expected to put on a façade of religion. Yet, when a religious person visits the house of someone who is not they expect the non religious person to still maintain the façade. Everything is about not offending the more religious person.
When writing your story, do not forget these real life aspects and struggles with the two topics no one really likes to discuss publicly. It will bring a real piece of our world into your world and make a great current reference for concepts and relatable subject matters.
