This is another post that was posted on the Real Life Superhero board that I thought was intriguing. While they debated the answer as heroes in the field, I felt it would be AWESOME to see the response from Story Creators.
This is the initial premise submitted by a member who calls himself, 'GRASSHOPPER':
My brothers and sisters, I have had an epiphany: There is no good and there is no evil. There is only…nature. Hitler is not evil. Osama Bin Laden is not evil. Drug dealers are not evil, nor are gang bangers who murder, rape and pillage those whom are weaker than they are evil. It is all perfectly natural when you really think about it.
Is a lion evil for praying upon those creatures who are weaker than he for sustenance? Or a spider upon an insect? No; it is natural.
Drug dealers hook others on drugs, because they need money, and trafficing drugs is the best way that comes naturally to them. they are preying upon those weaker than them for sustenance. Hitler was defending his religious beliefs. He did so, by doing wha he felt was righteous. He was preying upon those weaker than he for sustenance. Same for Osama. In reality, there is no good or evil, there are only prey, and predators, and we all need to protect oursleves form predators.
Heroes selflessly protect those in need, because this is what comes naturally to them. Villains prey on the weak, because this is what comes naturally to them.
It is the circle of life, and I feel humainty has greatly complicated their exixtence with such silly concepts such as "good" and "evil", but this is just my personal opinion. What are your thoughts regarding this?
