This is a drawing I did a few years ago while working with the owner and creator of a comic book company called Outerverse. His flagship main character was a genetically enhanced super human called Riftor.
My character is Pharaoh. He's a full-blooded, hard-charging, United States Marine that leads an elite Recon squad (The First Factor) into some of the most dangerous missions that one can imagine. His heart has been compressed to that of a size less than a sand grain while holding a mass somewhat equal to that of a solid brick. It produces power equal to that of a small sun... and it is ALL retained in his chest. Whew!!!
The creator and I met one after noon and had a great lunch while playing with the ideal of merging our characters and universes. It was REALLY cool to let the creative juices go with someone that loved this stuff as much as myself.
It ultimately came down to our visions differing when it came to our paths into the future. I did not want to present my characters to the world through a comic book while he did. I was more interested in the current path that I am taking which is that of an illustrated novel (The Elite Forces Division).
He continued with his comics and achieved his dreams by completing his story arc with his characters. He's a very cool guy! I drew this picture and sent it to him just to see how our characters would look together.
It was fun!
(oh yea... believe it or not... someone stole the original picture before I got a chance to finish the space between Riftor's arm which was supposed to be the rest of Pharaoh's body. I left my art portfolio on the tabletop at the bookstore and came back with a bunch of art missing. It taught me a valuable lesson.)
