This is sort of where my current story is going for chapter II-III:
Edited Synopsis (Volume One)
Jeinkaru runs away from home from her abusive birth father, and is nearly shot by a stray bullet from a trooper from an independent army during a planet wide war on Planet Akona. She meets up with Ajusa, she she at first thinks is an angel. Ajusa, who is actually a High Elven Et from planet Tarre, takes her to a safe place to hide. Here, Jeinkaru's father attempts to interogate him at gun point about what he was doing to his daughter. Ajusa turns around and tries to himself out of it. In the process Jeinkaru kicks her father in the balls. This gives Ajusa enough time to elbow her father into the wall to defend himself, so he can move on to find the Prophet of Akona. Jeinkaru's father reattempts to fire his rifle at him, but Ajusa plugs him between the eyes with his lazer gun.
Ajusa apologizes for killing her father, of which Jeinkaru says she hated him anyway. He wonders why, but then leaves her behind to look for the prophet. Instead he finds that the prophet has already been shot, and will reincarnate on another world in 75 years. Ajusa leaves Jeinkaru behind to die on Planet Akona, however she sneaks onto his ship through the ventilation. Here, she blows her cover. Ajusa doesnt get in the habit of tossing stowaways overboard, but he knew he had to take her back.
However in a split thought, Ajusa wondered who would take care of her since he killed her father in self defence. So he decides to take her to his world, keeping her in a pink bubble to combat her allergic reaction to silicon chrome. Ajusa reflects back to when his wife died on a mission where she was helping a certain planet try to evolve spiritually, and says to himself that she would know what he should do if she was still around.
They arrive at the starport, where he is in a bit of a delema about what to do with her. He hides her in his suitcase, takes her hom to live with him, into he finds a further plan of action. However he doesnt have any close friends to ask for advise. He decides to teach her what he knows about spiritual studies until then. The next year, the high counsel finds out that he's taking care of a akonestrial on their world, in defiance of their order not to contact them in any way other than through business. Through shame of his neglect od duty, he slits his own wrists forcing Jeinkaru to watch her commit suicide. Not wanting to be found, she runs away from home evading authorities that want to deport her.
She finds a loving caretaker, who had other orphans she was taking care of at the facility, where she helps families that can't have kids adopt children into stalbe homes. The caretaker tries to find her a suitable family, but it always ends badly due to Jeinkaru's split personality disorder, and eventually the caretaker gets her psychologically evaluated. We find out very little about Jeinkaru origin guardian on that planet, because Jeinkaru barely spoke a word to the avluator. They conclude that she seems to be in some form of shock from specific incedents, because of them being disorganized, they get very little data.
Four years later, she meets Ajalla who she has a slight crush on, however Ajalla appears to have very little emotion for her at all. She enjoys giving Ajalla subliminal cues about he feelings for him, which she sometimes gets lectured at the teacher about. When she Jeinkaru reflect about her past with her original guardian, and she has suicidal thoughts.
However, the spirit of her guardian visits her, and tells her to try to be happy, and be herself. She eventually has dinner with the other kids in the orphanage, and they sit in punchpad chairs, at a round dinner table so they always made eye contact. Here the conversation escelates to where the two girls are asking her red hair, and she tells them she dyed it, so they wouldnt know she came from a seperate more primitive world. She also notes the american like mentality of the people she's eating dinenr with, with overzelous pride in their homeworlds way to build their world.
Eventually the relationship expands to where Jeinkaru comes over to visit Ajalla's family, where she has dinner with them and spends the night. However she wakes up to Ajalla's cold stare at her face while she was laying on the punchpad couch. Jeinkaru lectures him about waking her up, he giggles and goes back to his sleeping pod.
Jeinkaru wakes, and sees a black shadow at the door, and goes to the door to see who it is. She opens the sliding metal doors, but knowone is there. She heres a wolf howling at the moon, and closes the door quietly from freight. She concludes she was just hallucinating probably. She goes back to sleep.
When Ajalla's mother goes to use the restroom, she notices that Jeinkaru is missing, and she wakes up the others to try to find her. They try to find her in the seperate glass bird shelter outside, but she's not there either. Ajalla's mother hires a detective to go find her, but when he returns he only finds one of her red cloves. Ajalla refuses to admit that she can't be found, and sneaks out to go look for her, being careful not to wake up his parents.
