Here is another interesting subject that I stumbled onto while 'attempting' to update myself on the old site (it has been a while since I've spent time there).
I came across Capt. Blacks blog and felt mixed about it:
captainblack.reallifesuperheroes.org/2012/07/13/president-obama-please-donate-food-from-july-25th-house-of-blues-fundraiser/
My question is, should RLSHs get involved in politics or anything Nationally political?
This was a call out to the President to donate leftover food, when this could have easily been accomplished by contacting the event organizers. But then again... I digress, that isn't what this is about...
What disturbed me was the VERY first comment made at the bottom of the blog by a RLSH named Wrecka. He INSTANTLY attacked the President of the United States and opened a can of bias. I felt a sense of blight about him and twisted away in annoyance.
What does this say and what is it saying, in the big picture?
How does this position those who are inspired by him?
This affected me more because I remember our Colonel telling us in the Marine Corps to be careful of our conduct in uniform. Each Marine IS the Marine Corps and the Marine Corps exists in ALL Marines.
This stayed with me for years and made me think twice when I made comments to others while in uniform. I remember how it motivated me to stop and speak to vets of other wars because they were my brother-in-arms. I stayed away from political opinions and focused on camaraderie.
I don't know if things are the same in the RLSH movement, but I sure as heck was thankful when I saw the very next comment after Wrecka's. It was Knight-Hood stepping up to be the hero that he is and supporting the leader of our nation!!
(Knight-Hood is an eternal hero, when he dies his tombstone is going to glow!!) ;D
