UUUUNNH... I figured I'd get up this morning, debate about exercising... fail the debate, cook some eggs-n-sausage, and watch a quick movie before work.
Couldn't find anything with war, zombies, or carnage so I started to look for a good cartoon. I found a bunch of, 'buy this - buy that' advertisement shows, 'how I should feel guilty about being fat', 'Take this pill which stops backaches but has a side-effect of stroke, nose-bleed, memory-loss, and nightmares', plus stupid love shows where everyone has discovered that everyone is cheating on everyone!!!
I was halfway into my sandwich when I stopped at this old eighties channel that was showing a movie called, 'The Breakfast Club'.
I actually sat through the entire thing...
WHAT THE HECK?!?
How did this one sneak past me when I was growing up?!?
I saw clips and pieces of it when I was young but I had NO interest because I was sure that I couldn't relate to it. I WAS WRONG!! This movie had some great acting, but more importantly, it had an EXCELLENT theme!!!
It addresses some of the core issues we ALL faced in high school especially with the groups, categories, 'clicks', crews, crowds, and friends. It showed the division and added to the forced environment of unity in order to create the solution of humanism by bringing together all the things that was in common.
The key to all of this was the struggle for understanding which led into lifelong memories and friendship. This movie was a CLASSIC in every sense of the word!! ;D
