For those of you who play video games, more specifically, Role Playing Video Games, the most anticipated game of all times is almost here.
11/11/11, will be the release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
If you have played The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, then you are as excited as the rest of the fans out there who have waited years for this moment. If you haven’t played Oblivion yet, go get it!
Since the announcement of Skyrim, all RPVG’ers have been getting prepared. Putting in requests for days off work, breaking off appointments, ending friendships and stocking up on food supplies for the long winter ahead as we prepare to tackle the 300+ hours of gameplay and 150+ dungeons game. And this is no grinding in this game.
Don’t get me wrong, hours of gameplay is by no means an accurate measuring system, as it only shows how much content there will be in the game, but it sure sounds good.
With today’s economy many people have to weigh in on what they spend their money on. Especially now with sites like Gamefly, no one is interested in spending money unless they are getting what they pay for. As you know, games sell for about $60 and up, when you throw in tax, the special editions, and the strategy guides you can get well over $100. An example: The special edition of Skyrim is $150, plus tax, not including the strategy guide.
Gameplay goes like this… If you are the kind of person who likes to go for the objectives and linear quest line, no side questing, skipping conversations, passing by towns and not talking to people offering side quest, just the objective and completing the game - then yea, your hours of gameplay will be cut down drastically.
However, if you’re like me and start the main quest, but as you explore the towns, meet the people, join the guilds, take some side quests for money, and see the world, you end up doing other things besides the main quest and your experience will be more fulfilling and you will get way more gameplay time.
It’s been observed that most people can log about 1,000 hours on an Elder Scrolls game.
Some quotes:
“Epic Fantasy Reborn - Skyrim reimagines and revolutionizes the open-world fantasy epic, bringing to life a complete virtual world open for you to explore any way you choose.”
“Live another life, in another world - Play any type of character you can imagine, and do whatever you want; the legendary freedom of choice, storytelling, and adventure of The Elder Scrolls comes to life like never before.”
“All new graphics and gameplay engine - Skyrim's new game engine brings to life a complete virtual world with rolling clouds, rugged mountains, bustling cities, lush fields, and ancient dungeons.”
“You are what you play - Choose from hundreds of weapons, spells, and abilities. The new character system allows you to play any way you want and define yourself through your actions.”

Oh, did I mention the 7’ tall bronzed statues for the launch. ;D www.bethblog.com/index.php/2011/09/06/attack-of-the-nords/
If you have pre-ordered, which system are you playing on?
Did you order the special edition?
I will be playing on PC and yes, I have the special edition.
