This is just my observation of some men recently and based on a telephone conversation I had as well.

I really like this poem because it's what so many men think and when I say man I mean gender. A real man doesn't play around, he respects women, he gives them the same respect he would give to his momma, and he knows that when you find a good thing you don't lose it, you treasure it.

This is good; intriguing, but definitely GOOD. Thanks for mentioning, 'The Shallow Male' post I did a long time ago, Muse, because this is closely related to it...

but, there is also a sociological factor embedded within this that carries the truth no matter how dark this may seem. Statistically speaking, there are a minimum of 2 women for every man on Earth. Depending on different filtering factors this number goes up, especially when you consider race and economic stratification.

In our current culture (mostly here in the USA) a man is judged by job, prestige, and income - a woman is judged by beauty, sexuality (her womanhood), and erotica.

They are BOTH still tossed in the classic, 'Rate them from 1 to 10' rule... with those closer to 10 having more social favoritism and power (in the sense of charisma). Those closer to 1 are basically the losers and degenerates of society.

While most men will want to come to the playground to join this 'game' in trying and juggling women, not all of them have the attributes (job, prestige, and/or income) to do it. It is mostly the ones that excel in at least one of those areas and/or lack the strength to fight being drawn into that life.

Women tend to think, that each and every man jumps to be like this... this is untrue. Many are drawn into it. When a man excels at one of these components - WOMEN ARE ATTRACTED. Whether you're married, taken, dating, or out playing with your kids... othe women are attracted.

You can have every sign, signal, barricade, or warning... and there will ALWAYS be a 'Darlin' for your 'Boo'. It does not mean that he HAS to fall for it, but things do become rough when it sneaks up on you.

When you wake up and you're in the situation, many will jump to make you the bad guy without understanding that this is one of the most common incidents in our culture.

Are we 'supposed' to expect the other-woman NOT to go after a good man that she encounters, even if he's taken? Especially when she's had worst and her outlook amongst the masses are bleak?

I learned a looong time ago, that the difference between categorizing someone and judging someone was mostly dependent on aspect.

When you categorize someone, you throw them into all of the different stereotypes you know, then struggle to get to know that parts of them that you could not place.

When you judge someone, you treat, respond, and react to them based on what YOU believe is right and wrong. This is where things get screwed up in this game between Darlin and Boo.

YES, this poem was SO very true on so many level and it was very well written. What makes it stunning is when you take the time to reverse the gender and add BEAUTY, SEXUALITY, and EROTICA to the game.

The beautiful and sexy woman, adores the attention she gets and has many-a-problem juggling that same attention along with her, 'DANIEL' and 'BEAU'. She dates Daniel because of his looks, loves her Beau because of his intellect, she sleeps with Daniel because its exciting, she adores Beau because he's always there.

She'll smile at her best friend and want his man. She'll wear the outfits, get the perfume, drop him a line, and wander by his job... all at the same time of being too innocent to truly 'know' what she's doing.

She'll be there for the laughs and offer the first hug for his tears. She knows what he's worth and she will struggle to do right, as long as she can still lie to her self knowing that she wants so bad to be his 'Darlin' and for him to leave his 'Boo'.

The one thing that both groups have in common, is not the sorrow we feel from the words... or even the enlightment that we hope to gain be agreeing with it or disagreeing with it...

...but the simple truth, it that this is a KEY component to one of the oldest acts we've had in human history and we have ALL been apart of it at some time or another...

...for those of us that are still going through it, we simply call it, THE GAME.

I believe a great deal of personal peace can be achieved when you manage to "beat " the GAME by getting out of it!

Omen is right...to a point.

Most, although I don't believe all, have been involved in the Game at some level at some point of their lives. Even if it was just at those tender ages when feelings and interests are first being experienced.

But Phoenix's work showcases the human emotion factor. The pain, greed, callousness, ego...all of the negative emotions that are possible in human intimate relationships.

The Game leaves no room for the Nobler human emotions. Kindness, goodness, compassion, thoughtfulness, empathy, and most importantly love. For the person playing The Game does so without thought for the impact this will have on those whose hearts they are so callously toying with. This goes for either male or female players, for there are both.

It is a sad testament to human society that FAITHFULNESS has become such a RARE commodity.
