One True Love

I traveled a great distance down the lonely road that lead to your heart.
I had many horrific battles with demons along and trying journey.
Now I have come through the castle door, the threshold of your wild spirit and I stand in the hallway of your saddened soul.
I carry my bright torch of unconditional, undying, undeniable love to the foot steps of your hardened heart.
I feel a shiver and I pull my cloak tightly around me as I take the first step on the winding staircase to my final destination.
My torch of love blowing from the cold breeze.
I see colored pictures of your past loves screaming out to me,” You will fail, you will fail!"
Shadows come to life and grab at me but my torch still burns bright for I am fearless and I am on a mission.
I bring to you great love and fearless devotion. You will be loved! You will be loved! We will fight these battles together. I will free your soul. Give unto me your heart. I love you!
I take the steps more quickly now. Battling again your past and present demons.
I unsheathe my sword of love and devotion and I plunge it repeatedly into your demons of doubt and distrust.
I fight my way to the door of your heart. I hear your tearful sobs on the other side. I scream out to you," I bring to you great love and fearless devotion! You will be loved! You will be loved! We will fight life’s battles together. Open the door and give unto me your heart!
The door splinters and then falls to pieces before me.
Revealing to me that which I have waited so long for.
You kiss me ever so passionately and I feel you press into my hand the key to your heart.
I open my eyes and we are no longer standing in a dark, dank, and gloomy castle, but in a fluffy white cloud floating high above lush green fields.
Your arms encircle me tight as you whisper into my ear," What kept you? I've been waiting for you for so long. My one true love."

That bespeaks the battles we face when loving those who have been scarred in the past.

Thank you. I wrote that for my husband a few years ago. I happened to have found it last night and I was like wow. Where have you been hiding? I really tried hard to fight that battle but unfortunately I lost it. I really think I love too hard.

There are people who are naturally intense. That intensity is tempered over time by experience....not that you feel any less intensely, you just learn to moderate the level of emotion that you express. Just as some are intense, there are some who cannot handle it from others.

And that is totally OK. You will, (if you havent already) learn to channel those passions into creative outlets....and I would say you are off to a good start.
